This is the total value of capital that Polish and foreign funds invested in 148 transactions in 142 domestic innovative companies. Comparing 2024 to 2023 and excluding so-called mega-rounds, the value of the market fell by 10%.

About the Fintech Market

The report draws attention to the fintech sector, which enjoyed great interest from investors in 2024. It is emphasized that the most sought-after were fast-growing companies that generate positive cash flows and guarantee above-average returns on investment.

The key factors that investors pay attention to in the fintech sector are the company's potential, competitive products, technological development, ability to acquire customers and the team's experience in international markets.

Krzysztof Drzyzga on the Situation in the Fintech Investment Market

Krzysztof Drzyzga, co-owner and CEO of Verestro, and numerous companies from the fintech sector, comments in the report on the situation on the financial technology investment market. He emphasizes that Europe is seeing a return to growth in valuations and the number of transactions, which is not yet visible in Poland.

The three main reasons for this difference are:

  1. Concentration of companies on profitability, thereby reducing their investment needs.

  2. Limiting the number of local funds in the investment phase and investing at valuations attractive to founders.

  3. Investment risk associated with the war in Ukraine.

In addition, Drzyzga points out that globally, the fastest growing valuations of companies are those in the Embedded Finance (BaaS) and InsurTech sectors. In 2024, investors are looking for dynamically developing companies that generate positive capital flows and guarantee above-average returns on investment.

2024 - the Best Year in the History of Krzysztof Drzyzga's Group

Krzysztof Drzyzga adds that 2024 was the best year in the history of his group. All companies in the group ( Verestro, Fenige, Quicko, Sparados, GoPay, Orovera, Sportigio ) achieved positive financial flows and increased dynamics.

Financora is Coming

Drzyzga also announces the launch of Financora in 2025. Financora will consolidate the operations of the above mentioned companies and is expected to become one of the largest and fastest growing fintechs in the region.
