Within Verestro, Click to Pay card enrollment is introduced as a separate, dedicated feature within the Token Management Platform (TMP). This allows card issuers to seamlessly integrate and offer Click to Pay enrollment directly to their customers, managing it alongside other tokenized wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay.

What are the benefits for consumers?

Consumers no longer need to manually enter their 16-digit card numbers, look up passwords, or fill out extensive billing forms when checking out online. Once enrolled, their card information is securely stored and easily accessible at any participating merchant, ensuring a fast, frictionless, and secure payment experience.

How does a card get enrolled in Click to Pay through Verestro?

Issuers can offer Click to Pay enrollment directly through their mobile banking apps or web portals (Push Provisioning). Using the Verestro synchronous card enrollment endpoint, the issuer’s application securely passes the card data to the Click to Pay system without the user having to manually type out their details.

What happens when a card is enrolled?

Enrolling a card into Click to Pay creates two linked artifacts within the payment network's ecosystem: A Secure Remote Commerce (SRC) Profile: A consumer profile linked to their email address and/or mobile phone number. A Digital Card/Token: The secure, tokenized version of the physical payment card, which is tied to the consumer's SRC profile.

Which enrollment model do you support: synchronous or asynchronous?

We support both approaches: synchronous, recommended for cardholder initiated enrollment and bulk, asynchronous, used for migrations and issuer initiated enrollment.

Can users manage multiple cards in Click to Pay?

Yes. A single consumer SRC profile can hold multiple eligible credit, debit, or prepaid cards from different networks (e.g., a Mastercard and a Visa). Users can choose their preferred card during the checkout process.

Is Click to Pay secure? Absolutely.

Click to Pay uses advanced tokenization technology - meaning the actual 16-digit card number is never shared with the merchant. Instead, a unique digital token is generated for the transaction. This drastically reduces the risk of fraud and data breaches.

How is user identity verified during checkout?

When a consumer clicks the Click to Pay icon at a merchant's checkout, the system uses intelligent device recognition. If the consumer is using a known/trusted device, they may be recognized automatically. If it’s a new device or requires additional security, the consumer will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) via email or SMS to verify their identity before the transaction is approved.

Can an issuer manage the lifecycle of a Click to Pay token?

Yes. Because Verestro manages Click to Pay within the Token Management Platform (TMP), issuers have the ability to view, suspend, unsuspend, or delete the Click to Pay tokens just as they would with a standard Apple Pay or Google Pay token, using the TMP Admin Panel or via the Token Lifecycle API.
